The Things People Ask Before Booking

Fifteen questions that come up most often on the phone, answered the way we would answer them in the bay — including the ones where the honest answer is that fitting will not solve the problem on its own.

It is the opposite. A low handicap already delivers the club to a fairly repeatable position, so the gains from fitting are real but narrow. A mid handicap usually has a wide strike pattern, and a wide strike pattern is exactly what the right length, lie and head design can tighten.

The one player we sometimes ask to wait is a genuine beginner in the first few months, whose swing is still changing week to week. Even then a length and lie check on a starter set is worth doing.

Single-club sessions run ninety minutes. The Putter Lab runs two hours because the roll lane work is slower than it looks. A full bag review is three and a half hours and is normally split across two visits if you would rather not do it all at once.

Nothing gets changed. You warm up, then hit a block with your own club while we run impression tape, put a lie board under the sole and film from down the line. That block becomes the baseline every later comparison is measured against.

No, and there is no pressure applied at the end. You leave with a written specification you can take anywhere. If you do order the build through us, the session fee is credited against the invoice.

Then that is what the report says. About one session in six ends with a specification change to clubs the player already owns rather than a purchase. A two-degree bend and a grip change is a small invoice, and it is often the correct one.

Because radar tells you what the ball did, not why. Two shots with identical carry can come from completely different strike positions, and only one of them will repeat. Tape shows the pattern across a whole block in a way no ball-flight number does.

The difference is what gets measured. A typical putter fitting checks length, lie and maybe head style by eye. The lab films the face at 1,000 frames per second at the moment the ball separates, which is the only reliable way to see the face angle that actually sets your start line, and it measures skid distance before true roll begins.

Those two readings drive the loft and toe-hang recommendation. Without them you are guessing, however experienced the guesser.

Yes, and it is a common request. We will still measure the baseline first, because shaft changes are frequently prescribed for problems that turn out to be length or lie. If the shaft genuinely is the constraint, the session narrows to profile and weight comparison.

Regularly. Neither gets a separate chart. A junior gets fitted to current height with a review scheduled against expected growth, and adult women get fitted to measured delivery numbers rather than being defaulted into a ladies flex because of a category label.

Your current clubs, your normal glove, and the ball you actually play. Trainers are fine. If you have an old fitting report, bring it — the comparison is often informative.

Stock components already on the rack are typically ready in three to five working days. Special-order heads or shafts depend on the supplier and run one to three weeks. We give you a date at the point of order and call if it moves.

Yes. Loft and lie adjustment, regripping, reshafting, shortening and swingweight correction are all bench jobs we do on any set. There is a workshop rate on the pricing page for work booked without a session.

Partly, and it is worth being honest about the limit. A club that is too long or too upright makes a slice easier to produce, and correcting that reduces the miss. It does not change an out-to-in path. Fitting removes the equipment contribution; coaching handles the rest, and we will say so plainly if that is what you need.

One player hits per booking, but you are welcome to bring someone along and there is seating in the bay. If two people both want fitting, book consecutive slots and we will keep you in the same bay so you can watch each other.

Your session record is kept on file so a follow-up visit can be compared against it. It is not shared with manufacturers or anyone else, and you can ask for a copy or for deletion at any time.
